"The Government lies to us." "They become rich while we suffer." "They only act fir the special interest groups." These types of comments seem to have become common place among many internet posters. They are not stated for any specific political agenda, but are actually believed. Has common sense really become so far removed from society that people can actually believe this nonsense?
The government is not some animate and omnipotent being with complete and utter control. The government is made up of elected officials, American citizens like everyone else. It's impossible to get a handful of people to agree on anything. How can the Government, made up of hundreds of people, have a secret arrangement where they speak as one voice? A voice who's only goal is to spite the rest of the American people, to make their lives miserable.
I do believe that many elected officials may have a degree of corruption and my look out for their own personal interests first. But that is a far cry from the Government as a single entity with a dark and spiteful heart. If you truly believe this, then get involved in politics, learn candidates actually stances, and get out and vote. Or a better solution, begin running for political offices your self. You don't need campaign funds to start out local and move up from there. It's easy for people to whine about something they do not like, but most are willing to actually do something about it.
